Full or part Loan

‘LORD HENRY’ 16.1H, Irish Sports horse.

Ideally to be kept at current yard in Herts, near Welwyn, but will consider other options for the right person.

Henry is a lovely, kind, horse who has been out of work because he has had problems with his feet but he is now ready to be brought back into ridden work. He is currently being regularly loose schooled, long lined and taken out for walks in-hand. In many ways he is a brave horse – we have done quite a bit with tarpaulins, umbrellas etc which he copes with very well and tends to be more curious about such things than ‘spooked’. We think that in a ‘previous life’ he had probably done quite a lot but unfortunately being on box rest for some considerable time, and being in the wrong environment, made him tricky to handle for a while. He is much more chilled out now and he wants to please but there is enough TB in him to make him a ‘bit bothered’ at times so he needs a more confident rider than I am.   He lives out and is good to handle, catch, vet, dentist, load and on roads.

We have been working with him using natural horsemanship methods, specifically Intelligent Horsemanship, which he responds to extremely well, and I would be looking for someone willing to continue working with him in such a way.

Ideally, I am looking for someone to loan him and keep him at his current yard which has wonderful hacking, a tranquil atmosphere and access to a roundpen,  and grass and sand schools. However, if the match is right, then I’m very willing to consider alternative arrangements.
